Waffles & his lamb chop toy

Chewy, an online retailer for pet products, identifies the Lamb Chop dog toy as the most popular plush dog toy and the second most popular dog toy overall, boasting over 13,000 online reviews with an impressive average rating of 4.5 stars.

The history behind Lamb Chop traces back to Shari Lewis, a talented ventriloquist and entertainer, who introduced a curious puppet with mop-like curly hair named Lamb Chop in the 1950s. This beloved character was prominently featured on "The Shari Lewis Show" from 1960 to 1963. Decades later, in the 1990s, Ms. Lewis reintroduced Lamb Chop to a new generation through "Lamb Chop's Play-Along" on PBS. This revival earned Ms. Lewis accolades, including Emmy awards, for crafting episodes that addressed important topics such as bullying and techniques to overcome nail-biting habits.

The charm of Lamb Chop extended beyond television screens when in 2010, the pet product company Multipet International Inc. cleverly transformed this iconic puppet into a 10-inch tall dog toy equipped with five squeakers, delighting both children and their furry companions alike.

Demand for Lamp Chop products has skyrocketed in just a few short years. The company responded by introducing a 6-inch mini Lamp Chop, a jumbo 24-inch Lamp Chop, and even seasonal editions. Similar to the beloved Sophie the Giraffe for babies, there is now a Lamp Chop toy available for dogs.

However, not all dogs have embraced Lamp Chop as fervently as Waffles. While some dogs prefer balls or other toys, Waffles treasures his Lamp Chop dearly. Despite having emptied it, he cherishes the shape and faithfully brings it to bed every night, alongside his other favorite toy, the fox head.

And you, what is the favorite toy of your dog and why?"
